ITINERARY

Day 1: Fly into Washington D.C.

The Washington D.C & New York City trip begins! Fly to Washington D.C. from your most convenient departure location and meet your tour director upon landing at baggage claim. Begin sightseeing the nation’s most famous war memorials which includes the Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and WWII Memorial. Also visit the Lincoln Memorial with fantastic views overlooking the reflecting pool. Finish the day with an included welcome dinner to meet fellow travelers and talk trip logistics with your tour director!

Day 2: U.S. Capitol and Smithsonian Museums

This morning, take a tour of the United States Capitol; the Capitol Building was completed in the year 1800 and is home to the United States Congress. Next, visit the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. After lunch, head to the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex, to see preserved artifacts from America’s history. The evening will be spent in Old Town Alexandria with dinner on your own.

Day 3:  Arlington National Cemetery and Pentagon

Visit Arlington National Cemetery today to pay respects and view the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Also, visit the Marine Corps Memorial - a sculpture based on the Pulitzer Prize winning photo of soldiers lifting the US flag at Iwo Jima. After lunch, head to the Pentagon for a tour and to view its 9/11 Memorial.

Day 4: White House
*Breakfast and Dinner Included
Today, visit more of D.C.’s memorials and stop at the White House for pictures. The afternoon will be spent at Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington. This historic Palladic style home sits on the Potomac River and was built by Washington’s father Augustine around 1734. Finish the last day in Washington D.C. with an included dinner before departing tomorrow.

Day 5: Washington D.C. to New York City

Drive to New York City in the morning and spend the afternoon taking in the sights and sounds of the Big Apple. Spend time visiting Rockefeller Center, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and Fifth Avenue before heading to the hotel for the night. The hotel is in a safe, centrally located area. After checking in, take a walk and explore what New York City has to offer!

Day 6: Harbor Cruise and 9/11 Memorial & Museum

The morning begins with a cruise down the Hudson River with spectacular views of Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and much more. After lunch, visit the 9/11 Museum and Memorial along with other sights of lower Manhattan including Wall Street, Trinity Church, and Battery Park. End the day high above the city with a visit to the One World Trade Observatory where the elevators climb 102 stories in 47 seconds!

Day 7: Central Park and Broadway Show
*Dinner Included
Start the morning with a walk through Central Park and visit one of the world’s largest museums, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET). After lunch, head to Times Square to take in a matinee on Broadway. For the last night on tour, enjoy an included farewell dinner after the show.

Day 8: Fly Home
