Day 1 and 2: Fly to Germany
Your Germany and European Lakes Tour begin! Travel from your local departure to Munich, Germany through the evening by airplane. We’ll land and meet our local guide who will show us around the city for a half day of sightseeing. Tomorrow we travel to see Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration of the Disney Castle! Welcome to Germany.

Day 3: Neuschwanstein Castle and Oberammergau

Travel to the small village of Oberammergau for a luncheon stopover; then it is off to see the incredible Neuschwanstein Castle! We’ll spend most of our afternoon in and around the castle, touring the inside to learn its history and then it is off to the city of Innsbruck, Austria where we will stay for the next 2 evenings. Enjoy an included dinner tonight as we arrive to our lodging.

Day 4: Innsbruck

Welcome to the city of Innsbruck. We’ll enjoy a day of sightseeing today in the capital city of the western Austrian state of Tyrol. Your tour director will give the group an overview of the city through the morning and you will enjoy free time in this very walk able city. Meet up for a social hour tonight and prepare for Lake Constance and Lucerne tomorrow as we travel west.

Day 5: Lakes Region

We travel to one of the most beautiful regions of the world today as we depart from Innsbruck and make our way to Lake Constance. Enjoy a scenic drive around the city this and have lunch on the island of Mainau. We will be at the northern foot of the Alps while on the lake today, so cross your fingers for a bluebird sky day!

Day 6: Lake Lucerne
On the list of destinations today is beautiful Zurich and Lake Constance. We’ll lunch in Zurich, one of the wealthiest cities in the world and continue onto the Lake Lucerne for the afternoon. Cruise for the afternoon on this exemplary alpine lake in the Swiss Alps. This will be one of the major highlights of the trip, guaranteed.

Day 7: Principality of Liechtenstein

We depart the incredible lakes region of Switzerland today to make our way to the Principality of Liechtenstein. We’ll make a stop in the capital of Vaduz to overlook the Castle of Liechtenstein and finish our day back in Innsbruck with an included dinner.

Day 8: Salzburg

Travel east into Austria today where we will stay for the next night. Traveling into Salzburg requires us to travel over scenic countryside and past mountains making a leisurely, beautiful drive. Stop in at Mirabell Gardens, as seen in the Sound of Music, and finish the day with an included meal at the 1,200 year-old St. Peter’s Restaurant, one of the oldest in Austria and still operated by local monks.

Day 9: Munich

Return back to Munich this morning to enjoy some free time in the city that you only had a chance to see partially our first day. You will have the option of getting a map and going out on your own, or traveling with your tour director this afternoon. Finish the day with a farewell dinner together.

Day 10: Fly Home
Wake to get to the airport today and fly home. We made some incredible memories through the Lakes Region of Germany and the Alps over the last 10 days. Hopefully this isn’t your last vacation with Bluebird Guided Tours. We had a great time, see you soon!
